Anna Song, President
Hi Everyone! I am Xuanyi, a senior double majoring in Data Science and Psychology. This is my fifth semester (and probably the last one) at Toppa and I’m beyond excited to bring Toppa into the next stage and let everyone’s passion & talent shine! I enjoy board games, badminton, and traveling. I hope to build a tight East-Asian community with better bonding, more tech projects, and more career-oriented training that truly empower our members to LEARN and GROW from here! Can’t wait to unlock everyone’s potential and make Toppa great again 🙂
Yaqian Tang, Internal VP

Hey! I’m Yaqian, a junior majoring in Data Science and Economics. I’m on data analytics/data science career track. I enjoy playing video games, watching Netflix, and boba! I’m motivated to be a leader at Toppa because Toppa has a talented and friendly community. I’m the Internal Vice President overseeing Community Building department and Professional Development department. The Community Building department is in charge of the day-to-day logistics, bonding, and operations of Toppa. 

Mary Guo, External VP

Hi I’m Mary Guo, a junior majoring in data science and economics, minoring in computer science. I’m an external VP for Toppa this semester. It’s my fourth semester in Toppa, with a semester being project member and two semesters being project directors. I’m interested in product management, data analysis and entrepreneurship. I’m also a big foodie and swim lover. This semester, I became an external VP from a project director. I would like to bring more great resources to Toppa members.

Leah Xue, Project VP

Hey! I am Leah, junior studying Computer Science, Applied Math, and Economics! I am fron Nanjing, China. I will be Project VP for Toppa this semester! I want to build a tightly-bonded community for CS and tech students where we can make friends and share ideas. I love traveling, reading and playing with my dog. I spent the summer with my family. Toppa is my favorite community at Berkeley. People here are smart, supportive, and fun.

Boyu Fan, Outreach Director
My name is Boyu, a second-year student at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Statistics and Economics, and I currently serve as Toppa’s Outreach Chair.I love tennis, piano, movies and classical music. I’ve just ended my data analyst position at Apple. I would like to internalize lessons I’ve learned and make a concerted effort to appreciate the community’s diverse cultures. In this term, the outreach team endeavors to build relationships with external companies and professors. We’ll work together to maintain Toppa’s presence within the industry and at Berkeley.
Michael Wu, Marketing Director

I am Michael Wu, a senior majoring in EECS. This is my third semester in Toppa, and I am excited to be the marketing director this semester. I am passionate in photography, and my dedicated areas are landscape and astrophotography. I would love make my contribution to Toppa Community to help Toppa reach more people. Our marketing department would focus on gaining diverse visibility for all of Toppa’s social media accounts, through regular posts and maintaining connections to other student organization.

Jenny Wang, Community Building Director

Hi, this is Jenny Wang! I major in Data Science and Art History. I love Love food, history, and traveling. Toppa is my family at Berkeley. During my stay in Toppa, I have helped with many daily and ceremonial bondings and events to build a closely-knit community, which also trained my leadership skills. I would have some accomplishments in one field, probably explore another one, and live a happy life with my family. Community Building department will make Toppa a warm home for everybody where everyone can contribute, socialize, and improve.

Luhan Huang, Community Building Director

Hi! My name is Luhan Huang, and I also go by “Carina” . I am a junior majoring in Econ and CS. I like singing, trying out new recipes, going outdoor, and playing board games. Toppa is a great place to gain technical skills, start professional career and learn how to be a more responsible person, which makes it an inclusive community and close-knit family. Community-building department aims to make Toppa a more close-knit community. During the fall semester, we will be organizing bonding activities and managing club’s logistics such as assessments, attendance, and finances.

Howard Meng, Professional Development Director

Hey! My name is Howard and I’m a third year Physics and Computer Science student here at UC Berkeley. I’m interested in web-dev, algorithms, and quantum computing! In my free time I’m a guitarist and a gamer, and also who likes to explore the food at Berkeley! Professional development seeks to improve every TOPPA member’s soft and hard skills. We host workshops delivering knowledge one would need to work in the huge tech field. We create panels for TOPPA members to gain experience from knowledgeable TOPPA leaders!

Project Directors

Edison Chen @ Video game

Hi everyone, I’m Edison Chen. I’m a rising junior majoring in CS and Econ, looking forward to all challenges and meeting new people. I love traveling, computer games, photography and cycling. I interned at Rimble, an esports analytics company, and built / productionized predictive regression models for statistics in game tournaments. This project introduces members to the world of game development, an exciting intersection between technology, art, and entertainment, and prepares them for teamwork and industry experience. In a timeline of 8 to 9 weeks, members will be led through the entire iteration of developing a video game with Unity, including the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), Alpha and Beta testing, and final release. Our final product will be the game itself, published through the online platform itch.io and available for all to play.

Brian Yu @ Notecode

Hello! My name is Brian and I am a Senior transfer student studying EECS. I lived in Shanghai for a long time before moving to the Bay Area during Highschool. Some of my hobbies that I love include gaming, traveling, exploring new food, and lots of outdoor activities. For the past summer I went on a 15 day road trip to Vancouver Canada and really loved it. I really enjoyed working with my project group last semester at TOPPA, and it inspired me to lead a project this semester. I hope by leading a project, it would help myself in my leadership skills and do something meaningful for our community. Our project is Notecode, a web application that aims to make online coding quizzes more engaging and meaningful for students. We believe that online coding quizzes should be a creative process similar to writing, in which we aim to give students more choices when writing their answers. We will be implementing our project primarily with React and FastApi, and welcome anyone to join.

Donny Li @ BerkeleyRate

Hi I am Donny, a junior majoring CS. My hobby is looking at the code and debug overnight. Although I spend a lot of time on my hobby, but in other time, I play video games, listening to hiphop, swim, soccer, skiing. I am also doing research about ML system under sky lab. Thanks everyone who has read to this far, and email me if you have anything about me or what I am doing. Our project is BerkeleyRate, which is a comprehensive student platform for all UCB students to better understand everything about the campus and around it. Currently we are at the phase of developing the Professor rating page. Our back technology is AWS and we are excited for the cloud era!
